Side note: I live in Georgia, which is one of many states that requires no insurance coverage for infertility. For a while, I had what they call "diagnostic coverage". It thankfully did cover a few things, but once treatment started, we were on our own.
The charge is beside the procedure, appointment, or medication. If insurance covered any portion, I've put the adjusted amount that we paid in parenthesis.
For those of you interested in the total, and not the details, I'll save you a lot of scrolling. To date we've paid $21,966.45 on fertility treatments.

Hi, i just found your blog and am excited to follow your journey. It sounds like your insurance is exactly like mine which is why we havent really been able to proceed with IUI. They would make us pay for everything up front to the tune of $1200 w/out clomid and $1800 w/ it. Im glad you posted this info because not a lot if bloggers talk about this in detail.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap. Gahhhh. I hate that we have to pony up the cash for this stuff. I haven't added everything up for us. Thus far we are pretty fortunate with coverage on all five of our IUIs. We still have one more covered. I did add up a rough estimate of what I've spent on ovulation and pregnancy tests over the last two years and it was close to $1500. Yikes! I always see your name pop up on comments and finally started following your blog. Really appreciated your follow up on your failed IVF. Thank you for being so candid.
